Gifting Wagyu

How do you wrap up a Wagyu tomahawk and put it under the tree? When it comes to gifting Wagyu the struggle is very, very real.
The holidays are a time when a lot of Wagyu is purchased. It is, in fact, our busiest time of the year. Wagyu is a special event food and a superior gift.
Regardless of why you’re buying Wagyu this time of the year we want to make it as simple as possible.
Our goal is to price it right, ship it well, and delight everyone it feeds.
Here is what you need to know if you’re going to buy Wagyu during this busy season:
- The best selection is right now. – It has been a difficult year in the beef industry. The floods in the Midwest have caused supply issues for many beef producers. If you have shopped online you no doubt have noticed a lot of Wagyu “out-of-stock” signs.We have been fortunate. We are in the mountains of Utah and our Wagyu cattle did not suffer any losses this year. Our inventory levels are very good. But the rush is on already. Because others are out of stock they are sending folks here. If you can, buy what you’re looking for as soon as possible. If you are worried that what you buy now might show up cheaper on a sale later, relax. You have our pricing promise to cover you.
- Ship it as soon as possible. – Our shipping usually takes three to four days. We use dry ice, frozen gel-packs and insulated shipping containers. We offer expedited shipping if it is necessary but try to avoid it because it is so costly.We have learned that all shipping is subject to bad weather and natural disasters often outside the control of the shipping companies.
That is frequently an issue the weeks of Christmas and New Year.
Save yourself some worries and headaches by ordering it early and burying your Wagyu deep in the freezer for later holiday serving or gift giving.
If you find a need to wait we remind you that there are fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year and that most conventional shipping for Christmas this year has to be sent out by about the 18th of December.
Save yourself some money and aggravation buying it now so you have it when you want it.
- Consider gift cards. – We do offer gift cards. It could be a solution for you. Part of the fun in Wagyu is cooking it! This is one of the biggest considerations for the Wagyu gift giver.Is the person receiving it going to have it served to them or will they be cooking it themselves?
For some, especially those of the male species who like to grill outside in sub-zero weather, this really, really matters.
